My twin brother and I were born healthily in 1986, however when I was 11 years old, I got sick and since that day I have not been able to hear anything. School became too difficult for me, so I am thankful for my stepfather because he helped me to get a place in a local deaf school. I completed my primary school education here and then went on to a deaf secondary school. I studied here for 3 years but in 2012 I had the opportunity to go to a deaf school in Kampala, Uganda. I completed the rest of my education there, apart from the final year, when we could no longer afford the fees.

I had heard about Neema Crafts from my friends, so when I returned to Tanzania in 2017, I decided to apply for a job here. I was happy when I was able to start working in the screen printing department, and have been here ever since.
