My name is Ahazi Mwinuka and I was born in Mbeya in the south of Tanzania. In 1990 I started to become sick with a terrible fever. Through this I became deaf in 1991. No one treated me any differently, they just took it as normal. I joined the deaf school in 1996 in Iringa and went on to complete secondary school in 2008. I decided to come to Iringa to experience life. Having arrived here I heard about Neema Crafts, so I wrote a letter to apply for work. The director invited me for an interview and I started work here in 2009. I was so happy to work at Neema because it is a peaceful place. It has meant I am able to stay with my younger brother and help my family at home. In the future if God wishes me to save enough money I would like to return to school one day to complete my education.
